FILLINGS

All metal fillings can be replaced by tooth-coloured fillings. They are made of a resin composition making them more durable and does not cause damage to your teeth. They can be used to fix both the front and back teeth. Following the preparation of the tooth, layers of composite filling are added to the damaged area. Exposure to a specific light hardens each layer of the composite material. After filling the cavity or defect the composite is polished to fit the tooth giving a seamless finish.

ROOT CANAL

The goal of a root canal treatment is to remove bacteria from the infected/dead root and to save the original tooth structure. The inflammatory or infected nerve is removed, and the inside of the tooth is meticulously cleaned and sanitised before being filled and sealed. This Treatment can be done in 1-3 appointments depending on the severity of the tooth. After the Root Canal has been completed a Crown is placed over the tooth to prevent any future fractures.

GUM DISEASE TREATMENT

Periodontal or Gum Disease occurs when plaque or calculus has built on the teeth and under the gum over a long period of time which has resulted in inflammation and bone loss around the teeth.

This can cause tooth mobility and eventually tooth loss. The treatment provided is an in-depth clean of the teeth and below the gum line, followed by an Oral hygiene regime which may involve a fortnightly to a 3 monthly visit to make sure the disease is kept at bay. After the disease has been stabilised a 6 monthly routine is followed to prevent the disease from developing again.

SEALANTS

Sealants are a therapy that helps to prevent tooth decay by filling pits and grooves in children's and adult teeth. Dental sealants are a resin material that is inserted into the pits and grooves of the teeth to provide a smooth surface that can be easily kept clean. Fissure sealants are a non-invasive technique that can be completed in only one visit. Dental sealants are most commonly utilised in children, as well as at-risk adults. Fissure sealants aid in the prevention and early intervention of dental cavities, as well as the promotion of excellent oral hygiene in both adults and children.

SCALE AND CLEAN

The goal of cleaning and polishing is to keep the surfaces of the teeth sparkling clean and smooth so that bacteria and plaque cannot attach to them and gum disease is prevented. Our scaling and cleanings remove plaque and calculus deposits that have accumulated on your teeth over time, leaving you with a clean, fresh feeling at the end of the procedure. The initial cleaning may take longer than subsequent cleans, which is why we advocate maintaining a regular scale and clean regimen. We polish your teeth to remove surface stains and give them that wonderfully clean, and shiny look.

WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL

Wisdom teeth are the teeth at the back of your mouth (the third molar teeth). They tend to come through (erupt) in the late teens or twenties. Some wisdom teeth do not come through fully (partly erupt) and get stuck (or impacted) against nearby teeth or bones. Most upper wisdom teeth can be removed easily under a local anaesthetic. Lower wisdom teeth can be more difficult to remove. You may need to take up to a week off work. You should be able to return to normal activities within a week.
