Broken jaws, fractured, cracked or knocked-out teeth, cut lips and tongues are injuries that you and your child can avoid when wearing an appropriate mouthguard. Only about 35% of Australians wear a sports mouthguard when playing contact sports, and even less wear them while training. Sports-related injuries affecting the teeth and mouth are extremely common, accounting for almost 40% of injuries. Accidents can happen in all sports, even non-contact ones like netball and soccer. These injuries can cost thousands of dollars and may require a lifetime of treatment.
