Nitrous Oxide Gas
This type of light sedation is achieved through the use of a gas called nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas. The gas is mixed with an oxygen concentration and is inhaled through a small mask placed over your nose. Inhalation Sedation “Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Sedation” is the most frequently used sedation method used in dentistry.
All bodily functions remain normal and the patient retains full ability to breathe on their own.
The patient will often fall asleep and may experience some level of amnesia.
At Ryde Dental Care we aim to make your visit to the dentist as pain free as possible.
